Applying for BBTV

If you already subscribe Yahoo! BB, you can easily apply for BBTV over the Internet. Before signing up for BBTV, read the terms and conditions(PDF) (BBTV official homepage) carefully. If there is a language problem, obtain assistance from one of your Japanese friends.

Some of the important points you should understand before applying:

BBTV uses Yahoo! BB Internet network. Therefore, depending on the Internet speed or other conditions, you may not be able to enjoy proper picture or audio quality.
Cancellation procedure

Online Application:

Go to Add/Remove Page (BBTV Official Homepage)
Enter your Yahoo! Japan ID and password. Then press the log-in button. (If you have not used your Yahoo! Japan ID before, you have to activate it first.)
Enter your NTT phone number (If you do not subscribe NTT phone service, you probably have to enter your customer ID)
Click "Apply for BBTV"
Read the terms and conditions. Check "I agree"and click "Proceed" button.
Select "Basic Channel Package" and press "Confirm" (If the screen displayed is something else, you may not be able to apply for BBTV)
Click "Apply" button.
BBTV sends you a letter and set-top box in 7 to 10 days.

When you use the set-top box for the first time, Account Activation Page appears. Activate your BBTV account by entering 12 digits BBTV number and password indicated in the letter. Instruction (BBTV Official Homepage)

BBTV offers its customer assistance only in Japanese language. If you do not speak Japanese, make sure to have someone who can call them with you.

Cancellation

To cancel the service, go to Add/Remove Page(BBTV Official Homepage) or simply call BBTV Customer Support Center for the arrangement. You also have to send the set-top box back to BBTV. The shipping charge will be at your expense.
